After you describe your desired outcome, your surgeon will analyze your eyelid firmness, the distribution of fatty tissue, skin quality, and the course of the tear trough. Based on this analysis, we will recommend the appropriate technique and explain the possible combinations, such as fat repositioning or additional stabilization of the canthus.
Depending on the findings, we choose the transconjunctival approach via the inner side of the eyelid if fat pads are the primary issue and there is little excess skin, or the subciliary approach just below the eyelashes if skin tightening is also advisable. The tissue is treated very gently and closed with fine sutures.
You can leave the clinic the same day after a short period of observation. At home, apply a cold compress to the area at short intervals, keep your head elevated, and use the prescribed drops or ointments. Light activities are possible again soon; you should avoid strenuous physical activity for about two weeks. We will schedule follow-up appointments and suture removal individually.
